Q) How does using a yoga swing help reduce lower back pain?
A) The vertebrate in our spine become compressed from activities in our normal day-to-day lives such as driving, being hunched over a desk or computer, and even just from the force of gravity.
One of the best ways to create natural traction is by hanging upside down or inverted on a yoga swing. When we hang in this position, suspended and inverted with our heads towards the floor, the vertebrate in our spine are pulled away from each other. When this happens it creates space between the vertebrate relieving compression that results in back pain and bulging disks.
Q) How do you mount your yoga swing?
A) Hanging your yoga swing will depend on the model that you purchase. Many of the models are easily hung by hanging them over an exposed beam. If you want to use your yoga swing outside you can hang it over a tree branch or swing set.
You can also hang your swing in the doorway from a pull up bar if you don’t want to drill into your ceiling.
To hang your yoga swing from the ceiling, find the stud or rafter in your ceiling using a stud finder. Once you find the stud or rafter mark where it is using a pencil.
Make sure to mark in the center of the rafter; you don’t want to attach your hooks or ceiling mount onto the edge of the rafter. Once you have located the center of the rafter or ceiling stud, mark with your pencil where you want to attach the bolts.
Then, using a drill, drill into the ceiling with a drill bit that is the same size as your bolts. Once you have drilled into the ceiling, hold your ceiling hooks in place, and use a wratchet to secure the bolts. Once you have the bolts secured your ceiling hooks are in place and you are ready to hang your swing.
